A Simple Guide to Setting Up EasyPHP

EasyPHP

EasyPHP is a program that allows a user to install web server technology onto a PC. This is very useful to a web developer as it allows for testing of web sites without having to upload the files to a server on the Internet, saving both time and bandwidth usage.

EasyPHP will setup an Apache server as well as MySQL and phpMyAdmin for users wanting to test a database locally as well.

If you’re planning on setting up EasyPHP for the first time it might be a little confusing but once you’ve done it, it’s easy! Read on for our simple guide to setting up EasyPHP.

Remove Background/Cut Out Image in Fireworks/Photoshop

This guide was written for Adobe Fireworks but works similarily in Abode Photoshop.

Many times, when designing a website/poster/leaflet, you will have to cut out a certain part of an image and put it on a new background. This can be accomplished numerous ways using programs such as Fireworks and Photoshop but it can often be time consuming and the end result is not always that clean looking.

Easy CSS Hacks for Cross Browser Compatibility

As discussed in our previous web article: ‘Cross Browser Compatibility‘, not every web page looks the same in different browsers. This can cause a website developer to have to spend a lot of time testing and editing a website to display correctly in all browsers.

CSS Hacks take advantage of known bugs in browsers and cause the browser that has the bug to display the CSS code, rather than ignoring it.
